CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Blog Event (Last day of contest, time to say Goodbye)

July 31st: Christmas in July! Blog Event (Participating authors listed to the right)

Hi everyone. Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed visiting my website yesterday. Before I ramble on, the winner is Eva…Congratulations!!! Please contact me at Skypurington@live.com.

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already the last day of July…and (frown) the last day of my Christmas in July! Blog Event. As some of you may know, I was fairly new at the whole blogging scene. I hardly feel new now! (Grin)

It has been so wonderful hearing all of your fantastic feedback throughout the month while I gabbed about my work, other author's work, the Song of the Muses Anthology and of course, my fellow participating blogger's websites in this event.

A HUGE ‘thank you’ to both Anna Kathryn Lanier and Skhye Moncrief for coming up with the idea for the Blog event and inviting me to join. You two are the best! I have heard a rumor that they might be putting together a twelve day blog event in December so keep your eyes peeled.

So now that we’ve reached the end of July we will all be looking forward to August. For me, August means a whole lot of writing and editing, chasing my toddler and visiting my cousin in Vermont. Do you have any plans for August or are you just kicking back when you’re not at work? Let me know in a comment for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to The Wild Rose Press!

It has been such a pleasure meeting you all this month. Every day I’ve checked the comments and have walked away with a smile on my face. You have all been so fantastic and it’s been my pleasure to give away prizes to you. Normally, I would comment back but didn’t want to be partial in that I was running a contest. (Not to mention I’m simply not online much during the day)

Please pop in once and awhile to see what I’m gabbing about or even subscribe to this blog by scrolling to the end of this page, the sign up is there. I post about two or three times a week to give you an idea so if I hear from any of you avid contestants again I’ll be thrilled!

Take care and have a super summer!

Hugs,
Sky

My plans for August involve fixing up my house. This last week I had the power go out in one section of the house, the dog made a hole in the downstairs wall somehow and the porches need waterproofing. There's more but I wont bore you with the details. Lets just say this house is over a hundred years old and needs some tender loving care right away!

Hi Sky! I don't have any special plans for August---just polishing up my dissertation to defend sometime in the Fall!

August means just a few weeks until the kids start school. Yeah. It means we're also at the time when the kids get on my nerves a lot because we've exhausted most of the entertainment.

But, I'm sure once September hits I'll wonder why the house is so quiet and miss my kids while their in school. Ahh, the joys of being the Mom.

I don't have any definitive plans for August. I might visit my cousin in Michigan. We might stay home to save money. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer. Thank you, Sky for being a part of this awesome blog event.

Sky I plan to be visiting here often. I had a great time and so much great reading and more to go!

Thats what some of August will be, some catching up on some reads I so want to read! And too some preparations to send my son back off to college (appts) and for me as well, so its going to be quiet the first couple of weeks then very busy!

Well, I'm having gastric bypass surgery next Wednesday and will be recovering for the rest of August. I have been spending the last 10 months filling out paperwork, getting evaluated & tested to finally reach this point. I have gotten all the things I will need to begin my new lifestyle including a membership to a fitness center which I have been using the last 3 weeks but won't be able to go for 6 weeks until I get clearance from the surgeon. I am very excited and can't wait to feel better & healthier. Everyone at work has been great but my boss says he doesn't know how they are going to get by without me especially since it is budget prep time. That's is my August.

August is going to be a rather hectic month. My son will be starting Kindergarten on August 18th so all the preparation and buying supplies, etc. has me hopping. Things will be crazy. Added to that I have a 21 month old daughter who is a bit of a diva and demands more than her share of attention. No rest for the weary mom here.

Hi Sky, I've had a lot of fun this month too. I couldn't tell you were new at blogging? You seemed like a pro. Well we have no plans for August. We will be kicking back and probably have some people over for a barbecue, nothing fancy. Thanks for all the fun and prizes.
