Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve. I know I did. What did I do? Wrote then watched the ball drop in New York's Time Square via webcam. Don't you love technology? As a mom to a four year old I chose to stay in with him this year. In its own way, it was as fullfilling as the days I used to romp around Boston.

My only regret this Christmas Eve was that I was unable to view the Blue Moon (Second full moon in a month) through my new telescope. Yep, you heard me right, my telescope! I know, about the last thing you would expect from me is that I love astronomy...but I do! We're due for a snowstorm or two up here in New Hampshire so it's cloudy and I can't see a thing.

That said I hope someone, somewhere viewed the full moon on New Year's Eve and everybody had a blast toasting in 2010. To those at home and to our troops overseas...may your new year be full of love and good health.

Always,
Sky

I'm trying to decide when to get my oldest a telescope. Other than the expense, I'm not sure he has the patience to look at the stars...even though he loves to read the space and star books I have.

Happy New Year!

Oh, it's such a great thing. I know what you mean about the age issue. Though the telescope is mine for now, I intend for my son to have it when he's old enough...and FAR more patient!

Congrats on the new telescope - that's something I always longed for myself, but never managed to get hold of.

It will be wondeful for your son to have too, when he's oleder. The stars are so amazing and mysteriosu and what a lovely hobby to start him off on!
