This book was a wonderful read, took me on a journey of emotions that I truly didn't expect. It was about real life and the ups and downs everyone goes through. It was fun, witty, and I enjoyed it! The author is Holly Kennedy and its just as wonderful as her other two books, 'The Tin Box, and the Silver compass.' I could see this one being made into a movie.Chicks of Characterizationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12507046887458343222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-467296852518035096.post-9110032740035436932008-07-24T09:29:00.000-04:002008-07-24T09:29:00.000-04:00I actually just finished a WONDERFUL book. It was...I actually just finished a WONDERFUL book. It was called Breaking Free by Lauraine Snelling. I listened to most of it on audio while I was on a road trip and the narrator was wonderful. It is about a woman who is in prison and is selected to be part of a program for inmates rehabilitating race horses. There is a parallel story of a man with a son who is in a wheel chair with spina bifita who also learns to ride a horse. As you can guess, the boy makes a strong connection to Breaking Free, the horse our heroine is rehabing. She and the horse go to live with the boy and his father. There is a touch of romance near the end, but it is really all about relationships and finding a way to face life and move on.Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18101704271462672542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-467296852518035096.post-6838208270344784612008-07-24T09:26:00.000-04:002008-07-24T09:26:00.000-04:00I just finished (ie, last night at 11:30pm) Suzann...I just finished (ie, last night at 11:30pm) Suzanne Brockmann's Force of Nature #11 in her Troubleshooters series.

I read this for a Romance reader group and this was my first experience reading her. I loved the characters but well I didn't love the book. Probably more to do with my tastes than with the writing style.

I love paranormals, I can escape RL. I just generally like to read contemporaries. There is enough, drugs, killing, explosions in our world how is reading about that an escape?

Look at the news. The first 10-15 minutes is who got killed, blown up, house destroyed, arrested, etc. No fun happy stories till just before the weather.

I don't want to read about that. Thus why I live in my own little paranormal/fantasy world. :)

So for those that like thrillers and mayhem, you'll probably enjoy the book. For those that don't well you'll like her characters and I'm still deciding whether or not I liked one of the characters enough to go look for his story in her back list.Beth Caudillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07822034586213938181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-467296852518035096.post-40859526990360306222008-07-24T09:10:00.000-04:002008-07-24T09:10:00.000-04:00I'm reading "Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down"...I'm reading "Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down" an anthology by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Melanie George & Jaid Black.
